Methodology
How protective work gets scoped, designed, and delivered.
Every engagement, regardless of size, moves through five documented phases. The phases are sized to the engagement—a single-event coverage and a standing residential program follow the same model, scaled appropriately.
Phase 01
Intake & Discovery
Establishing the requirement, the principal, the environment, and the engagement’s constraints.
The first conversation is structured. We capture the requirement as the client describes it, the principal or organization being protected, the operating environment, the timeline, and the constraints (legal, organizational, family, privacy). Confidentiality protocols are agreed at this point.
Inputs
Initial brief from the client; any pre-existing assessments, post orders, or insurance/legal constraints; identification of decision authorities and points of contact.
Outputs
A documented requirement; a confidentiality framework; a defined scope for the assessment phase; an indicative timeline.
Phase 02
Threat & Vulnerability Assessment
An honest read of the threat picture and the vulnerabilities the engagement must address.
We characterize the threat picture against the principal, the residence, the facility, or the journey—whichever applies. We then walk the vulnerabilities (people, property, processes, information) and rank them by likelihood and consequence.
Activities
- Open-source and reference-based threat profiling against the principal or organization.
- Site walk and physical security review for residential, facility, and event engagements.
- Itinerary and route review for journey and travel engagements.
- Review of existing protective arrangements and identification of gaps and overlaps.
Outputs
A written assessment with a documented threat picture, ranked vulnerabilities, and a set of prioritized recommendations. Where the recommended posture does not require the services we deliver, we will say so plainly.
Phase 03
Operational Design
Translating the assessment into a deployable plan with documented standards.
Operational design is where the protective measures are specified—team composition, post orders, communications plan, contingency plans, escalation framework, and the documented authorities and reporting lines for the engagement.
Deliverables
- Operational concept—the protective approach for this engagement, written for the client to review and approve.
- Team composition—named personnel where assignment permits, roles, shift pattern, relief.
- Post orders and operating procedures—site- and engagement-specific instructions.
- Communications plan—equipment, channels, check-in cadence, points of contact.
- Contingency plans—defined responses to specified scenarios, rehearsed where appropriate.
Phase 04
Deployment & Coverage
Disciplined execution against the documented plan, with continuous oversight.
Personnel deploy after pre-deployment briefings on the principal, environment, post orders, and contingency plans. Coverage is supervised, with oversight from a designated operations lead and documented reporting to the client at agreed cadence.
Standing engagements
Daily situation reporting; weekly reviews against the threat picture; documented incident handling; rotation discipline.
Event engagements
Pre-event briefing; on-site command and coordination; documented event report; close-out at the engagement window.
Travel engagements
Trip-window check-ins on agreed schedule; in-trip reporting on incidents and changes; arrival and return confirmation.
Change management
Material changes to the threat picture, the principal’s schedule, or the operating environment trigger a documented re-scope before changes to the protective posture.
Phase 05
After-Action & Reporting
Documented close-out so the next engagement is better than the last.
Significant engagements close with a documented after-action review—what worked, what did not, where the picture changed, and which recommendations from the assessment now need revisiting. The client receives a written summary; lessons fold back into selection, training, and post-order standards.
Outputs
- Engagement report covering coverage delivered, incidents handled, and outcomes.
- Updated threat picture and any changes to the recommended protective posture.
- Recommendations for the next cycle, including any infrastructure or arrangement changes the client should consider.
Integration
Where engagements run inside a group program
When Aegis One is delivering the protective component of a broader Fortbridge Group engagement, this methodology runs inside the program-level process. The two are designed to fit together: the group handles intake, scoping, and program oversight at the engagement level; Aegis One handles assessment, design, deployment, and after-action at the protective-services level.
The phased structure is consistent across the group. Fortbridge Solutions runs requirements, assessment, sourcing, execution, and reporting; Fortbridge AI runs assess, design, build, deploy, and govern. The domains differ; the insistence on assessing before acting does not.
Next
Engagements begin with a confidential brief.
From the brief, we agree the scope of Phase 01 and proceed phase by phase, with you in the loop at each documented gate.
